Dr. Richard Heers

Dr. Richard Heers received his Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis; he then graduated in 1976 from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he worked at a veterinary practice in Gilroy for three years. He then moved to Tulare in 1979 and joined the practice at Cross Street Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Heers, and his wife Lee Ann, have three daughters. They share their home with a team of ducks “both small and large animals: two dogs, two cats, a team of ducks and one horse.” In his free time he enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, woodworking, and farming 12 acres of pistachios.
Dr. Heers absolutely loves his job working with dogs and cats. He and his staff work tirelessly to make each pet’s visit as stress free and comfortable as possible. His motto is compassionate & quality care.
Dr. Jake Gomez
Veterinarian
Dr. Jake Gomez is no stranger to the Valley; born and raised right here in Tulare he had plans to return to where it all started. After graduating from Tulare Union, Jacob pursued an Animal Science degree at UC Davis. In 2018, Dr. Gomez received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Jake has a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes, but his heart belongs to cows! His family of pets encompasses a blind Bengal cat, a three-legged Golden Retriever, and a “normal” Bluetick Coonhound! Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, and traveling.
